The Current Go-To Pieces.

I want to start of this post with an apology for the lack of updates on my blog recently. Lets just say that uni is kicking my bum at the minute with lots of work, events and deadlines going on, meaning when I am not focusing on any of these things, I am most likely sleeping instead! But I am still trying, and what with there being a lot of Christmas events coming up and *ahem* my 21st birthday(!) I should be posting a bit more in the weeks to come. But anyway, enough of that, lets get on with this post, shall we?!

I often find in my wardrobe, that I go through stages of constantly reaching for particular pieces, because I know that I look and feel great in them. Well the pieces featured in this outfit do exactly that, so I thought I would share with you my current go-to pieces that I simply cannot get enough of!

To begin with, I wanted to talk about this skirt. For years, I had been a fan of the skater style of skirt, as I felt that was the most flattering on myself, and it has only been more recently that I have delved into this style of skirt instead. This A-Line denim skirt is everything I have been wanting for so long, but only recently managed to find. It is from New Look and is this gorgeous light blue colour, with some acid wash looking details around the waist. I think the reason why I love this skirt so much is because of how versatile it is, I can dress it up or down and get away with it on all different kinds of occasions. The perfect piece to wear on cold days when you don't want to wear trousers, and just pair with tights like I have done here.

The next piece I wanted to talk about was the t-shirt. Again, this is from New Look (shocker) and it is definitely feeding my red addiction nicely. When I saw this t-shirt, I instantly pictured it with this skirt and knew they would look great together: looks like I was right! I love being able to take quite a simple item like a t-shirt, but then it stand out for either the slogan on it, or in this, it's colour. It is such a simple way of taking a boring outfit and making it instantly cooler and on trend. What I have been seeing more of recently is vibrant pinks, so I'm thinking if you want to be really current, to invest in some simple pieces in bright pinks for the upcoming season.

Another trend that I have been seeing in street fashion and have been loving, is different coloured tights. Now you can't really tell on these pictures, but my tights are like a deep red colour, which I think make such a nice change from the usual black tights that you find. Other colours that I like the idea of are like deep greens and purples, just to add an extra bit of interest to an outfit, but being quite subtle with it. Someone who I have seen work this trend amazingly is Megan Ellaby, who is one of my absolute fave fashion vloggers, and is who I actually got the inspiration from in the first place. Love it!

The final pieces to this outfit are ones I am pretty sure I have featured on my blog before, but I can't link them unfortunately because they were one off pieces on ASOS Marketplace. The first one being my all time love, my leopard print faux fur coat. I get so so happy when it becomes cold enough to whip this girl out, because I feel like some sort of sassy Bet Lynch in it. The sleeves are so obnoxiously big and looks like it has come straight out of the 80's, I can't get enough of it, and don't think that I ever will! Lastly, I have rediscovered my vintage graffiti converse. For a while now I have been wearing my baby pink converse that I featured in my Autumnal Accessories post, so much so that I had forgotten I had these ones at uni with me! But I have found them again now, and fallen back in love with them like I did when I first got them.

So that is it for this little blog post, but I hope you enjoyed it! Like I said, there should be a few more coming in the next few weeks, but for now I hope you are all having a lovely lead up to Christmas, and I will speak again soon.

Lot's of love,

Amy xoxo
